    Kiritsugu didn't survive taint from the grail. he would have survived fine on his own without it with Illya, Iri, and/or Shirou.

    I believe with Caren, she should make it seem like she's helping out Illya, but in actuality is trolling Illya, the girls and her own father in her masterful plan to steal Shirou away from them all.
