But aren't Nasuverse werewolves a different species altogether? Doesn't seem to have much room there for the classic shapeshifter - unless maybe there's a magus with some weird animistic magecraft out there?

    Reasons
They are both interesting foils for each other, in many ways as well. The biggest one would be how they both interacted with there loved ones in there backstories. Skipping most of the details, the core of there love-lives revolve around whether they followed through with their desires or whether they stayed true with the expectations of the people. Rama stayed true with the people's expectations which he would regret over as it had him to abandon Sita, Lancelot on the other followed through with his desires and he hates himself over it since he believes he betrayed the King's trust and led to the demise of Britain.

Another thing of note is that they both prefer themselves to be in certain classes, even though it limits there abilities. Rama prefers Saber over his more powerful Archer as it allows him to continue to look for Sita while Lancelot prefers Berserker than to Saber as thanks to his guilt he can only see himself as a disgraced and hated knight despite it limiting the use of his NPs such as For Someone's Glory and Arondight. They also clash in battle as well. With Rama being a warrior so skilled he is basically 3 Classes in one while Lancelot is able to become a master of any weapon he holds even in the depths of madness.

I can see them either becoming close because of their similarities or becoming hated enemies for those same similarities. I just think seeing them together would be interesting, well that's what I think.

Also want to see who would win in a clash between the Strongest Knight in Arthurian stories and the Greatest Hero in Indian Myth but I digress.

summary. Lancelot likes MILFs, Rama does not.

I now know the role of werewolves in this cluster of a fictional universe. Neat!

I am the herp of my derp. Hurr is my body and durr is my blood. I have created over a thousand derps unknown to durps nor known to hurps
have withstood durrs to create many derps yet, those hurrs will never herp anything so, as I pray, Unlimited Derp Works

You know I was just thinking about the differences and similarities between Sigurd's Volsung Saga and Siegfried's Nibelungenlied and it just hit me. One is Brynhild route and other is Kriemhild route. Now thanks to that dumb connection all I'm now thinking about ia how it look if adapted into a VN. Ha

You know, I often wondered just how Nasu decided upon Gae Bolg as a causality reversal attack, since it's nowhere in the original myths, but it clarified a lot when I read that the entire basis of Cu in the original VN was the concept of "fatalism" and the accompanying cynical idea that wishes can never be granted.

And what better exemplifies fatalism then an attack that's literally unavoidable if not for the ability to defy fate itself? (An ability which Cu itself is crucially lacking, it must be noted)

Maybe y'all already realized this ages ago and I'm just slow on the uptake, but it never really occurred to me to consider it that way before and when I finally did, it suddenly fit together why Nasu chose Gae Bolg to work that particular way. Rather then deriving from any particular anecdote in his myth, it instead represents the entire narrative itself. Shows just how much thought and research goes into the Servants we see, I suppose.

...Or at least it did back in ye olde days of Stay Night, I have no idea how much thought is put into the narrative themes behind Servants now that they're being practically shovelled out like candy in Grand Order. (Not to diss on the GO designs, and I'm far from one to criticize when it comes to shovelling out Servants like candy...)

;In this modern fantasy setting, curses can't be broken. A curse that has already taken effect will never disappear. The only way to release yourself from it is to transfer it into someone else. Thus, the term "Kaiju (Transfer Curse)" is used. It's not a misspelling. Kaiju (Release Curse) is a rare trait on the same level as demon exorcism. Since it entails erasing human destiny, well... to be blunt, it's the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception.
It's because Gae Bolg is a cursed spear and because he decided that curses work like this.
Apply that to a spear that will always hit the heart, to this and the reversal of cause and effect becomes obvious.

It's just nasu taking bits of his world and explaining something mythological with it.
Until Mcjon tore apart Mahoyo we didn't know.

Given how apart those two entries (Stay Night and Mahoyo) are, I think it's just as likely Nasu decided on the curse initially for thematic reasons and then tied it in with part of the broader lore afterwards.

And do all curses really work by reversing causality? What you're saying sounds like it'd apply to the unhealing wounds curse on those Gae Bolg has already hit, but not the initial strike's causality reversal...

If by this, you mean he reversed causality, I can see that.

    (Mahoyo is older than FSN)

Um... Mahoyo came out in 2012, while Stay Night debuted all the way back in 2004. What are you talking about?

If you mean the core ideas of Mahoyo are older, then since we don't know what exactly those shape those ideas took until they were released, it's still perfectly conceivable that they were influenced by those introduced in Fate.
