I just checked the relevant part of the description and it says "owned by a witch". Unless TM is taking some major artistic license with her legend, Europa (who owned Talos in legend) isn't someone I'd consider a witch by any stretch of the imagination, so I actually have no idea what that part is referring to. I assume. I think it's supposed to be a 'NEVER FORGET, NEVER FORGIVE' thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if it does other memory tricks.
I read some interesting ramble on this a while ago (think it might have been silvermoon?). Basically talking about how "oblivion" (忘却) refers to thing such as sin, taboo, regret - negative things within the intelligence cycle. As such, oblivion doesn't inherently come from memory organization, but it arises from malignant information that is contradictive to the continued survival of humans, causing it to be "intentionally" forgotten.
Basically, by forgetting inconvenient truths which make up malignant information, you're able to continue leading a healthy life, and not fall into despair or whatever. And then there was a reference to how the Avenger class was (originally) born from the accumulation of malignant information (Angra), and this is why it gets the skill basically acting as resistance to this concept of "oblivion".

What he said is he seems to have resistance against tine loop memory shenanigans, and rather than his own skill its more of a skill of his class
Then the next sentence he said is "it seems that my predecessor once experienced a loop without ending, but..."
Those two sentence might be connected, might be only a referenc, might be a way to say that even back in HA memory correction is already a thing

Also, I thought in myth that after his death and subsequent Godhood, he was sent to basically watch over the Straits of Gibraltar, though in the Nasuverse this may not be true since the whole thing about his nephew helping him burn the hydra heads isn't true either.
This reminds me of that PS3 launch title, Folklore. It was something similar that basically talked about the concept of death and memory.
The function of 'Oblivion' was basically to allow humans to live their lives without falling into despair. The ability to forget painful things, like the death of loved ones and such was necessary for people to continue on. It was a surprisingly good game. XD

At first, Roche thought it was just a larger golem – exceedingly large, close to fifteen meters tall – and nothing much besides. Even Roche, with his skill, would be able to craft such a golem were he to spend fifty years on its creation – though he would only be able to recreate its size. Its quality would be a different matter entirely.
Even so, such a creation would not be particularly rare. Roche had heard tales of a witch who once possessed something on the same scale, or perhaps even bigger. Considering the age of that tale, it could be inferred that that witch’s creation would also be stronger, spiritually speaking. Even the material used to create this golem was nothing particularly special, despite their cost – their best quality being their pristine state.
However, Roche could not help but gasp in wonder. This golem was utterly abnormal on a conceptual level – though perhaps it was most fitting for Avicebron.

Huh just read the Battle of Camlann CE. I didn’t know that it was Alaya that initiated the contract, I always thought that it was the contractor that did given how they spoke of it. With this and Okita’s I guess this isn’t the case.
