My very first TM is a video between Saber vs Gil and her last moment back at 2007-2009ish. Back then I thought the visual was very good (don't judge me, I only watch Shonen Jump, Gundam and Tokusatsu back then) and the scene where Saber died and sent Bedievere to throw Excalibur away was very heartwarming it almost like a drama show. (I don't think anime can be heartwarming back then.)
Then, I pirated the whole show like every penny less 15 years old.

My first TM was hearing about something Zero that was about a female King Arthur or whatever but completely ignoring the hype.
Then I ended up reading the VN a bit before UBW stated airing.
We actually have a thread for that, but my first exposure to Fate was a top ten anime attacks video on youtube (Saber excaliblasting Medusa). I remember thinking it was a mahou shoujo at the time for some reason. Might've confused it with Nanoha.

I remember the first TM character I've ever seen, it was Arcueid. But it was from a doujinshi.
That's a pretty accurate representation of the fandom that I usually saw on reddit and youtube.
Zero anime was my first exposure, though I had heard about Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime before I didn't know anything about them beyond the titles. I thought for the longest time that Rin was SN's main character.

First exposed by Zero on Netflix, and then bought and watched the DEEN anime while being confused about the difference of quality until I realized it came before.

That anime about moon people that shall not be named is how I first encountered TM, I was looking for any anime/manga about vampires and I stumbled across it.
I assumed that it's poor quality was due to it being a bad adaptation so I searched out to see if it was based on anything, discovered the Tsukihime VN and the rest was history.

Since we know Servant star ratings aren't an indication of power or difficulty to summon... what if what they indicate is Guda's affinity to the Servant in question?
Thus say, Okita, who would normally be fairly weaksauce, is through Saint Graph Ascension w/e pushed beyond natural limits to perform much better. Meanwhile Herc, despite phenomenal power, just doesn't *click* as much and only brings a fraction of his power. And as proof of concept we have Mash who, in the course of their journey together,became closer and actually had her star rating increase.

servant's rarity are based on how difficult they respond to your call.
Arash is 1* because he will respond to every master's call.
I’m confused, the star ratings don’t have anything to do with summoning difficulty? Wouldn’t more powerful servants like Gil and Artoria who are 5 star be more difficult which they are, requiring catalysts for summoning and all, thus having that rating to begin with?
Also can you try explaining the affinity thing again? I’m probably just stupid but I dont quite get what you mean.
