trying to estimate which period of japanese history has been raped the hardest by FGO i.e. by instrumental application of degenerated "flat" historical consciousness & attendant reprocessing by TM brand conventions.
no doubt a fruitless endeavour, but all the same - genocide is genocide but someone has to count the bodies and establish a basis for comparison
I was gonna say sengoku/early tokugawa (up to, let's say, 1633, shimabara, the martyrdom of the yugioh guy) but considering how much retardation originally came from koha-ace ('nobbu' and whatnot), i'm now leaning toward late heian/early kamakura. i think "raiko" by herself should count for a lot against them here
okita's gonna okita but honestly it's surprising that the bakumatsu hasn't been treated far worse, particularly considering how a lot of "19th century" "servants" from outside japan have turned out

He isn't a playable Servant yet, but as Ashiya Doman was a contemporary of Abe no Seimei, he would theoretically be of a similar age and thus slightly older than Murasaki.

she was his pupil or smth
maybe has something from rl legends (how much do we know about rl murasaki), but just as easily could be something the writers made up

Since Murasaki Shikibu had a certain level of familiarity in Onmyōdō, “The Tale of Genji” also contains within its sections certain elements of the craft. Putting it in a modern way, she was actually the sort of author to ’study real magic for the sake of writing a novel in which magic occurs’.

Fuck you Nasu. What so you mean Touko isnt a powerful fighter? Wtf was it that i just saw then?!
I mean when he said that he did specify that it would change depending on which Touko model is currently in use- After all there are a lot of her, and some have better specs then others.

but she is a powerful weapon maker.
She's only an average fighter, but a brilliant scientist!
I imagine that if you ambushed her, or if she didn't have enough time to prepare, she'd go down like a chump. Araya manages to take her out pretty easily under such circumstances.
But actually catching her off-guard is the tricky part. And, like, killing her won't do any actual good in the long run, since it'll just activate the next Touko.
