Ever17 is awesome and because Koto doesn't like it I view her as a lesser being than before I learned that she didn't like it.
Simply put, Koto has a glaring inability to comprehend and/or appreciate skilled, well-structured writing, and this is a flaw that will be addressed in the construction of Koto Mk. 2.

Regardless, Ever17 was enjoyable enough, but the "mindfuck ending" didn't impress me much.

The ending wasn't a mindfuck; it was pretty simple metafiction when you look at it. Very, very good. The thing I love most about it is the fact that it is, in the end, a visual novel about visual novels. The entire plot makes perfect sense when you realize that it's metafictional.

Bah, if that were the case, the characters should have just told me to open the script files in an editor and write in a "nobody dies" ending. Not try and convince me it's 2017.
