Collared - (Prototype/Stay Night, Misaya x Rin)
“Rin.”
She hears the annoyed tone but doesn’t respond; Rin has been working all morning on this spell and nearly has it down, and the moment she perfects it she is going to take it and rub it in Zelretch’s face, the smug old vampire bastard…
“Rin.”
She’s too distracted to reply, though she’s pretty sure she heard an increase in the annoyance of that tone, the kind of annoyance that all but screams if you don’t turn around right now, I swear to God I’ll find a way to make you look at me. But she ignores it all the same because she’s so close to the damn breakthrough…
Her glasses land on the desk with a muffled clatter as something soft and squeaky bounces off the back of her head; she yelps, startled, and jumps nearly out of her skin, whirling around and practically tripping over the rubber dog toy.
“Stop ignoring me,” Misaya grumbles, red eyes dark with annoyance, and her teeth are bared kind of like a wolf. Rin blinks, staring dumbly at her partner, then sighs and slumps back in her chair, rubbing her eyes.
“Was the dog toy really necessary?”
A slim, dark eyebrow arches at that, but when Misaya speaks again, it’s a question; she points to her neck. “What the hell is this?”
Rin blinks again, then snickers softly and gets to her feet, absently pushing the toy aside with her foot. “It’s a collar.”
“I know what it is, dammit.” The snarl is back in her voice, eyes blazing; if she had fur, it would be bristling. “Why am I wearing it?”
The magus in red shrugs, not having a good answer; she just felt like putting it on. Quite frankly, she’s impressed she even managed to get through Misaya’s pack to sneak it onto her while she was sleeping. It must be a sign of how used to her the dogs have become, that the best they respond to when she accidentally wakes one of them is a brief warning rumble before it recognizes her.
“Rin.”
“What? I thought it was funny.”
“It has a bell.”
Indeed it does. Rin tries gamely to swallow her giggles, and only partially succeeds. “So I can always find you in a crowd. Handy, right?”
Misaya glares, crossing her arms over her chest. “Take it off. I can’t reach the clasp.”
Rin sighs and relents, making her way over to the girl; the instant her fingers brush the leather, though, a spark comes into her eyes and she grins at the look of confusion on Misaya’s face before she wraps her fingers around the collar and yanks the taller girl down into a hot, hungry kiss, because damn it all if seeing Misaya all angry and annoyed doesn’t stir something up in her.
Misaya reacts instantly, as she always does; Misaya claims dominance with a fight, as it is the alpha female’s way to do so. The kiss is long and heated, and there is absolutely nothing gentle about it in the least. Rin’s fingers slide further along the collar, find the clasp, and she pulls back with a soft sigh.
Misaya growls in protest.
Rin smiles at her, all innocence with wickedly gleaming eyes and parted lips. “I thought you wanted it off?”
“Later.” And Misaya crushes them together again.
