Current Plan

We're aiming for a coordinated attack against Arbiter, with the intent to disable its eyes or at least deal sufficient damage to slow him down somewhat. The idea is not to further confront him but escape after the intial exchange, regarldless of success (assuming we're allowed to). In my head, Tooru would be the bait having Prescence, Hybrid perk and transformation aggro, while Masa and Mark would combine forces since they both have offensive support (which stacks). Masahiro would be the one to further distract and create a a flashy opening with dream gate, hopefully saving Tooru's ass in the process, while Mark would take the assassin role and use this opening to his advantage in order to hopefully poke some eyes out or something.

I'm personally wary of insanity but there's a few things to consider about it, just throwing it out there for future reference:

-Tooru will be able to tank more
-Tooru can deal more damage
-Tooru draws more aggro (not necessarily a plus as it might attract more shit on top of Arby but at least makes him better as a bait)
-Tooru might be able to ignore his MP to get a full transformation out, boosting damage and tanking abilities further

-Tooru might outright ignore Arby and go for Masa or Mark (though if Arby does attack him I don't see it happening)
-Tooru might not be able to be roused back

It's a heavy risk, I'll leave it up to the group/snacks to decide if they want to pull it since while it might provide enough of an edge to lower the risk for Tooru it might also fuck everything up.

So going by that plan, what's your defense for a sword sweep or something along those lines? Since it sounds like you're all jumping towards it, I'd advise having some sort of counter strategy for a possible counterattack.

Well, you can always have Tooru jump at Arby first, then go insane. Still risky but at least his first priority would be Arby by virtue of being the closest target.

The cracker opens an attack window where it can't hit shit, offsupport should work to chain the attacks close enough together. Even if it's not fazed by the cracker it should be surprised enough by it to not sword sweep the shit out of somebody for the (very) short time.

Of course, that's going on the assumption it's the type of creature which pauses briefly to surprises like that as opposed to having some sort of jump reflex response or something. Though the idea of distracting it isn't a bad one, just saying to consider all possibilities before moving in.

Personally, going for the eyes might be dangerous due to the fact that even if the firecracker surprises it, faces are usually the hardest part to hit. If the cracker does manage to turn Arby's head, maybe tooru should get his claws out and rip a good chunk out of Arby's legs, preferably the achilles heel area, slowing it down majorly.

Also if Tooru manages to hold on to that piece of flesh he could technically consume it later for a bonus or MP/HP regen.

Nobody provided an alternative. It was still the only thing we came up with that actually offered a way to close the distance without getting gibbed as we still don't know how the fuck it finds its prey.

If it ain't got eyes, you usually default to sensing vibrations, super hearing, or echolocation. Maybe sensing heat, which would be perfectly screwed over by the firecracker.

Considering it stalks it's prey in a dark, enclosed area with tunnels,

1. it has limited night-vision
2. it has echolocation that we can't hear
3. it has an acute sense of smell

1 and 2, the firecracker may be able to help with. 3, there isn't a real good way for us to counter it.

therefore my previous thought on taking it's legs down a notch.

Thats the reason pretty much, the cracker covers the broadest range, hearing, vibration sensing, seeing, whatever.

Also Iunno if going for the legs is very effective when it has tree trunks for em but iunno, take it up with your team. The fact that the head is so hard to hit was one of the reasons the cracker got chosen after all.
