Yeah anime movies are usually run for a month. If it was the HF movie then I'll watch it not caring of my exams, but Prillya... I can wait 2 weeks I guess

Plus I doubt Malaysia would get Heaven's Feel so quickly. There aren't any announcements with a set date for starters, just a general announcement of showings in Malaysia.

Which is sad because its such a big title. The annoucement has likes and shares on par with the Sword Art Online announcement, and that had a world premiere with Japan. I wonder if we would have more World Premieres if those piracy recording incidents never happened...

Perhaps, Malaysia has faced threats of being blacklisted from screenings (I recall the articles that arose after the SAO movie's release) so those incidents may have contributed to limited releases here. On the other hand, I get the feeling that Malaysia is not regarded as important enough to be considered for that world premiere compared to other countries.

Odex previously revealed that it had found a case of alleged illegal recording of No Game, No Life Zero in Malaysian cinemas. At the time, Odex stated that the incident had "greatly threatened the relationship between Japanese copyright owners."
Odex had not yet revealed a definite opening date for Sekka no Chikai before CB International Movie announced its indefinite delay of the film's screening.

I'll match that bet and add the implementation of a ban against future anime film screenings in Malaysia.

Such an incident would be a third strike against the country. Hell, Indonesia got blacklisted for one illegal recording case so I would presume Malaysia's illegal recordings (& probably other incidents in other countries) got the SEA region facing strikes as well

Imagine if the actual anime had this art.

I think SL would only be able to make a single frame of animation and then would resort to using the still manga panels for the rest of the series if they did use this art for the anime.
