Daze
==================================
It was a moment of perfect harmony for the two of them. Blue met red, held the gaze, and conveyed all possible meanings and intentions either girl could ever wish to express at that very moment. Neither of them had, at any time in the past, ever come to such an immaculate accord with another being as now.
The moment that lasted forever... because of infinite, towering rage that both of them shared in such a deep and unadulterated fashion that to express it with words was an impossibility in anything short of the all-encompassing first tongue of humanity, long lost to the mists of time.
In the end, neither of them dared to break that sacred silence, even as their combined presence seared the sensibilities and survival instincts of everyone who dared to approach the entrance of this utterly defiled locale.
Instead, the hapless bald guy working the parlor ovens made the mistake of trying to get their attention.
"Uh, ladies... you gonna order somethin' or what?"
Unspoken was the reality that he'd left them the bill. A horrid reality to which they had just been dreadfully reawakened to.
"And when can I expect my pa-aah..."
What had been an exchange of perfect understanding between the two of them was an assault of maddening intensity through eye contact alone for the ignorant man.
------------------------------------------------------
The second to break the silence was Altrouge, who could feel her face returning to some vague approximation of neutrality shortly after her inhuman wrath boiled the poor fool's mind. Or some horrid fate along those lines, she didn't quite know.
... she could have sworn she hadn't used her mystic eyes for anything then and there, though. Huh.
Right, where was she?
"Rin."
First thing was first.
"We are not going to eat here anymore. It's... tainted, by the lingering aura of idiocy."
She made this decision dispassionately, of course, and it showed in her voice.
Right. Altrouge Brunestud was a rational decision maker who didn't let her overwhelming sense of loathing guide her actions in the least.
She returned her attention to her companion, looking up, and knew she wasn't the only one who didn't like the thought of being here any longer than necessary. Yet...
A hint of discontent.
------------------------------------
Were she a nicer person, she'd feel sorry for the man they'd just terrified into hiding out behind the counter again, but...
Wait, she did feel sorry for him. Damn.
Anyway, Altrouge was talking again, so she had to focus and let actual words get through to her brain again. A difficult task, given the overpowering feeling of rage that had her fingers twitching by her sides.
"... well, then, where are we going to eat?" she asked, grinding the question out between her teeth as her mental capabilities finally began to catch up with the situation.
Not that she wanted to stay here either, but it did completely derail all of their plans.
They had plans, right? She wasn't just making those up in her mind so the rest of the day would make sense in light of the atrocity they'd just been put through.
----------------------------------------
That was actually a good question, and it was enough to get her genuinely back to something approaching normal as her body decided to scream at her for more humane sustenance. She was actually one of the more 'energy efficient' of the Dead Apostle Ancestors due to her unique heritage, so she didn't have to depopulate entire villages like some of the barbarians Ortenrosse kept on retainer, but...
Well, it also meant she hungered for two separate types of meals entirely, and right now it was the prospect of something incredibly greasy and unhealthy by human standards that demanded her attention.
She brought a finger up to her lips, and made a show of thinking about it. Well, not just a show, she genuinely didn't know what she wanted anymore.
It was hard to admit such indecision on her part, but her original plans were just... thrashed apart and left to bleed away.
Rin looked a little impatient, but she didn't blame her; the girl hadn't truly eaten all day.
Where... oh, that might work!
"Do you know if there are any places here that serve that food they call Chinese?" she asked, blinking as she watched her pet for a response.
---------------------------------------------------
That was... ugh, no!
She would not waste their time going to a restaurant for that kind of thing.
Her displeasure must have shown on her face, because the smaller girl leaned back just a bit in surprise.
"Let's not waste our time with that," Rin said, before reaching up to run a finger through one of her pigtails. "Anything they could make, I could do better."
It was only with a touch of pride that she noted her companion's expression of unveiled surprise.
She knew that look: You can cook?
Rin saw it less in Japan due to the norms of things there, but there in London it was much more common to get that kind of response. Especially from that... infuriating Edelfelt girl, though it was with some condescension mixed in.
-------------------------------------------
Well, that solved that problem!
"Well then, forget the rest of the trip! We'll just go look at those puppies and then head back over to your home."
She insisted on this with open excitement, the inside of her mouth growing wet with expectation of the meal that would come. Sure, Altrouge had no idea how good it would actually taste, but it should be worth a try!
With no intention of ever getting back to that human hiding behind the counter with that bill foisted off on them by that loathsome degenerate she reached out to grab Rin's hands and outright drag the girl out of the parlor.
Her path was set.
-------------------------------------------
That...
Well, okay, she should have seen that one coming.
Besides, she might not be the world's greatest dog lover, but after that little incident Rin could honestly say that anything else would be a welcome diversion.
So, puppies, then a little shopping for ingredients since she wasn't being made to pay for a single thing...
Yeah, the rest of today should go well.

I could have called this Hyperbole and it would be about as accurate.
