Democracy on Beast's Lair
Nicely done! I want to cry, a little.
Interesting to see how he really did become a legend, in the end.
Ah, this beautiful story. I loved it. The amount of emotion.. and the poem itself. A good end to a true hero.
I liked it when I betaed it, and the finished product was fabulous.
I will say, however, that I preferred your original ending ideas, and that you could have used the other people instead of returning to Rin and Sakura.
I debated on it, long and hard, and decided it was better to thematically go cyclical instead of linear because of the poem refraining at the end.

That's a respectable reason. Calling off air-strike.
Great job, Arashi. I was very moved by it, I didn't quite cry, probably because he did accomplish his dream.

To be honest, crying wasn't really what I was going for. DP had the reaction I wanted, so, at least that was a success.

Well done, Arashi. I had a not-exactly-sad-but-not-quite-happy-either smile while reading this. Bittersweet, yes, but also full of hope. The hope of every life Shirou had touched.
Now, the question is... who wrote the last line?
Spoiler:
Indeed.

I noticed, but I sorta brushed it off because I didn't have an answer. Now, in the right mood, I'm gonna say, 'Shirou wrote it!'
Because hey, they never found a body. And even if he is on the Throne of Heroes or in Avalon with Saber and in a sense not dead, it'd be an interesting message to leave behind.

I can't reread this, I'll cry again.
Mini Nephthys on Archive of Our Own - where my actual good fics live.
I also think that it was Shirou's hand that completed the poem.
And thinking about symbolism.. I think Avalon would in the end symbolize life, and the Throne - death. So, if he didn't die as he said, he should be in Avalon.
My small two cents on this matter. ^_^
So this made me cry last night when I first read it, so I tried rereading it today. Still got a little teary.
Well done, Arashi, well done indeed.
That's why I didn't said who I thought it wrote the last line. I think that it was Shirou, too.
Spoiler:
You know, I was moved by the poem at first, but after reading people suggesting that the last line was written by Shirou himself, I imagined that it wasn't actually the continuation of the poem, but actually Shirou sulking or something because people thought he was dead for years already. Just a thought.
...sorry about that :P
~I hate writing English paragraphs longer that one line. Or any language, really.~

Finally took time to read this.
It was nice.
Can't think of anything else besides this..
