Definitely cool.

I think my favorite part of all this is seeing a military response to something supernatural. Here it isn't some lone assassin or mage, who will often do something like spare an opponent for whatever reason, but a complete team of badasses who are professionals and know what they're doing. Granted people like Kiritsugu are mages and professionals, but somehow it's different compared to Blackwatch. Probably the military aspect.

I guess I can't imagine say Shirou or Shiki (either one), or perhaps any of their associates, reacting the same way as Cross or his team in how to fight something.

Nah, he's regenerated his human form after being JDAM'd...I wonder if I didn't make that clear enough. He mentions 'lying on his back' and 'getting to his feet', so I thought people would be able to work it out from that. He's back to how he was before, similar to what happened the first time he got blown up at the hospital. After all, he talks, and even in the Nasuverse, lions can't talk.

Either way, talking requires vocal cords, which lions don't have. Presumably BLACKLIGHT hax could let you get around that, but in general, if Lio is talking, it's because he's a human. Or at least looks like one.

2) You'd have to look far and wide to find a unit with more psychotic badasses than Blackwatch... assuming their portrayal in the first Prototype, anyway.

3) Awesome or not, I really hope Shiki doesn't try to fight her way out. She'd be dead pretty fast.

Are you referring to the apartments full of corpses, or the brain jar room downstairs? Blackwatch's reaction to finding the latter would probably be quite... interesting.

This kind of recovery from that kind of damage is hard-core impossible; it's on a completely different level from the regular, garden-variety kind of impossible Cross is paid to surmount on a daily basis.

You will. The original version of REDLIGHT - the PATER implementation which Weisstein developed during WW2 - would probably not have been able to survive GAMEKEEPER (Weisstein kept it well-fed, you understand...). The Soviets nuked it, because "It's the only way to be sure." At the equivalent point in the game (i.e. very early-game), Mercer would have been finished by GAMEKEEPER. Lio managed to survive it despite having eaten only five people because he's....unique. I won't say any more, because SPOILERS.

Are you seriously comparing Lio to Nero...? Nero was a prominent magus who turned himself into a DA with magecraft, had help from Roa, and his chaos consists of every beast on the planet.

I think he's talking about Extra Saber, not Nero Chaos.
