Shiki was the high point of this update; there's just this subtle aura of snark that infuses every that comes out of her mouth. The sheer, palpable lack of fucks evident in her interplay with Touko is simply glorious. Much like what happened to poor Cornelius... He really does get the shaft whenever he appears on screen (and whenever he doesn't, as this update shows). He could almost compete with Lio for the universal butt-monkey award; here's hoping he gets his time in the sun before he has to exit stage left into the lion's maw.

You know an author means business when reading the story takes more than the time passed in the story.
But in a way that what adds to the story itself, becoming a giant metaphor about how mush shit is going on at the same time.

Holycrap I didn't realize that at first. Seriously this might be the first novel I've ever read that takes longer to read in real time than actual time passes in the novel. x.x The only comparable thing I remember would be Hayate no Gotoku, but that still advances a few months haha. But Lio's internal monologues are so entertaining, I don't know where we'd be without them!
