There are many good reasons to postpone my trip till next year where I'd have better timing on getting plane tickets, have more funds to make the trip into something more than it is, and other similar goodies.

Yuki Kajiura however, has entirely invalidated every single reason aside from "can't afford it". I will show unless I am actually incapable of doing so.

Though I'll probably have to volunteer. Doesn't seem to be any other housing cheap enough and close enough to matter...

Anyone can tell me how volunteering would work? And for how many nights one can take advantage of the crash space? The latter is especially important, since my plane ticket purchases will depend on that.

For volunteering - working 4 hours a day will give you crasb space from the night of Day 0 (June 28) through the night of Day 3, with checkout on Day 4. Notably, you will be asked to be at the Crash Space meeting at 8:30 PM PST on June 28 to be assigned a room.

Hours include Day 0 (and shifts are available then) - and as a minimum, 12 hours will be enough to secure hotel space through last night, with the last 4 just done if you want the refund for your convrntion ticket (and more cash to spend on day 4, with all the deals)

Hmm, probably going to be a bit inconvenient, but for the sake of having some buffer (and potentially a short free day in LA or something) I'll probably have to check in for a single night at some hotel before and after...

...well, tickets for leaving on the 2/7 are expensive anyhow, so I guess I can live with that. Really, waiting a day to leave practically pays for itself...

I'm definitely up for meeting up at the Con, though I have no clear idea what I'll want to do there exactly just yet. I'll throw up my "to do" list once I have it though, marking out all the things I want to check out. We can figure out when something intersects, and maybe try and meet up at some point at the start?

Well, in any case, while there are a few things to work out yet, mostly of the "argh, plane ticket" variety, I'm expecting to arrive on the 28th and leave on the 3rd. We'll see how it goes from there come tomorrow when I should be able to finally nail that last persistent requirement for everything to get the go-ahead.

I REALLY wanted to go to the Aniplex USA panel too, but there's no way I'd give up going to the Total Eclipse panelf for it. If anyone does go to the Aniplex panel though, if you could ask in the Q&A or just find out if they plan on putting the in-character commentary on the English Bakemonogatari bluray release, I'd be immensely appreciative.
