Objectively not true? There are several companies that exist that have enough money, popularity, and manpower that they don't need publishers for their works, and so always publish themselves only, and always own all the rights to their works themselves.

Plz do give an example. Because there are a variety of different rights, which gets really convuluted and complex. Even disney doesn’t own absolutely everything regarding star wars after acquiring the big chunk of it. Distribution and airing rights are also things people get money from, and are meant to be sold. It’s impossible to truly hold all the rights when it becomes the business.
Unless you just make a doujin i guess.

Okay, fair enough, but they still ultimately own most of the rights to most of their stuff. Like Nintendo, Sony, Capcom, Squenix, Ubisoft etc.

To be fair, Disney do own everything Star Wars related. It's just that they then give out licenses to certain subdivisions of the IP, such as EA getting exclusivity on developing games with the IP. If I remember correctly they had to pay out the ass for that to happen, though.
This is what happens a lot of the time. Media franchise gets big, creator obviously doesn't account for it well, a lot of it gets bogged down in rights issues. Eventually, all of it gets consolidated into being owned by one entity, that then lends out licenses/permission for it to be used by other companies.
Disney still doesn’t have the distribution rights for the old star wars film and especially a new hope whose rights would’ve perpetually be with fox because it was never all under Lucasfilm. Same deal with the whole x-men and fantastic 4 thing. Though sure that will change in the future with their acquisition of fox.
