Zachary is Julian's dad. When Zachary became Darius' vessel, he became the new Roa-Ainsworth as Darius started to replace him.

Here we have Doll Zachary. Sometime in the past after Zachary became Roa-Ainsworth and before Darius took complete control of him, Zachary put his personality into a doll, making Doll Zachary. Doll Zachary's job is to watch over Darius because even though Darius says he wants to save humanity, nobody fucking trusts Darius.

But Doll Zachary is a doll, so he's broken. At this point during the 5th HGW, all Doll Zachary can do is rampage around and fuck things up as Saber. He can't do anything he was supposed to do. Then Shirou meets Doll Zachary and kills him. That's why Doll Zachary is okay with Shirou killing him and why he leaves it to Shirou to stop Julian.

Everything so far is Julian's plan, not Darius'. Julian is doing everything he can before Darius takes complete control because, again, nobody fucking trusts Darius.

That's all cool and all, but I thought Darius' hold on Julian was broken when Julian was stabbed by Rule Breaker? It sure looked that way. At first I even thought Darius was obliterated by it or something.

Just realized that Darius's goal is basically the same as Ivan's from the Russia Lostbelt. Both want to insure humans survive an imminent disaster (Gaea's death in Prisma, a worldwide ice age in GO) by forcibly transforming them into something other then human. So even if Darius had succeeded in his plan, his timeline would have just been designated a dead-end history and pruned.

That makes me wonder if we'll get another GO crossover event in pt. 2 with a Lostbelt where Darius won...

Yeah that kind of downer ending is par for the course for magical girl shows. Like Madoka for example.
