A new adventure awaits within Lumiose City, where an urban redevelopment plan is underway to shape the city into a place that belongs to both people and Pokémon.

Spoiler:
Legends Arceus is my favorite Pokémon game, Megas are my favorite gimmick, and going back to Kalos will hopefully let them flesh out the XY legendaries more because they really need it. I see this as an absolute win.
Guess "Legends" won't be just about the past then? Cause this is all looking pretty high tech.

Ah you beat me to it by two minutes.
I'm really excited for this, I loved Legends and Megas are back. I'm a bit bummed this one doesn't seem to be in the past again but that's a minor issue.
If it's about the develoment of Lumiose City, it's definitely about the past.
It just isn't the distant past like Arceus was.

"a new adventure set entirely within Lumiose City"
Grand Theft Gogoat? Or urban fantasy Pokemon game? Zygarde's lore is it defends the ecosystem so maybe the urban renovation will tie into that.

All accounts technically compare to the actual history this game might set a bit before Legends Arceus since the Major redevelopment of Paris which this game is based on is around 1853 to 1870 under the command of Napoleon III. Which is weird to think about
Still over a century ago.
Though as Ismail said Paris was built in the 1800's so maybe this might actually be around that time, and the high tech is just stuff for the trailer? Cuz we know the actual game is absolutely not gonna look like that.
On another note, glad that there are no Gen 5 remakes in sight. If it's to do them the BDSP way then it's best to just discontinue the remake trend entirely. I'm okay with this.
As for whether I'll buy PLZA or not... I'd rather wait and see. I was never a fan of Kalos or Gen 6, and SV was fuckin boring to play (still haven't finished it, legit get too bored to continue playing after one hour).

Considering only chronical distance, a gen 5 remake wouldn't be that far off, considering gen 1 got remade only 8 years after release. Thinking about it, the technological jump is not that small either. I don't remember what the gen 4 remakes were like though, so I have no idea whether that's a valid critique.
Call me 想φαγω.
Spoiler:
The Gen 4 remakes were outscourced to a different company and didn't have interconnectivity with Gen 8 except for the Pokémon Home service, unlike all the previous remakes which could interact directly with the "native current Gen" games with little to no restrictions (legit the only thing that comes to mind is having to do a bit of post-game stuff in FRLG to fully connect to RSE).

This also brings up the question of whether this game will play anything at all like Arceus since presumably we're not trying to make a new Pokédex again.

I think this going to be partly a city-builder/town-building game where you go out and try to help out with rebuilding Lumiose by gathering materials or Pokemon for it.
100% Form Zygarde final boss fight on top of Prism Tower would be so kino.
Hell yeah, a new Legends game in the region of beauty. I really want some new Megas for my faves like Milotic. The inevitable Zygarde Cell search will be depressing, but oh well.

I wonder if new Megas for the starters will replace regional forms for them.

I'm looking forward to ancestors for all of the Kalos peeps. Watch Lysandre's grandma be the sweetest least judgmental person alive who ends up unjustly hated because she's a tsundere or something.
Piplup feels like a shoo-in for the water starter since Empoleon is named after Napoleon (it even applies to its Japanese name too). If we assume the starters will all have Megas, it disqualifies Torchic and Charmander for fire since they have them already. Ditto Bulbasaur and Treecko for grass. And we can probably cross off Oshawott, Cyndaquil, and Rowlet since they were just in PLA.
I belive the grass starter is Snivy since it is heavily french base also because of the fence in Perfume Palace looking like this
