I probably have given out enough information for people to find me if they keep track of it all and really tried. I'm probably not the only one that's true for, though (I'm pretty sure I could find Seika, for instance, if I looked hard enough).

I mean, I could understand if it was adi (at least then you have more information [Imperial College of London lololololol]) being found but I can't think how people have found yours, Kotonoha's (adi found hers iirc), and other peoples (I know quite a few of them were found but none of them were actually posted publicly) >_>

Well, Koto found mine because she used my e-mail address from Milbunk's wiki (it's private there, but since she's an admin, like everyone, she had the power to view it anyway). Flame I'm not sure about, but I have given out more information than you seem to have noticed, and he was evidentially keeping track of it better than I am....

Well, that's actually without trying/looking. I'm not sure, but if I actually tried I might somehow be able to get more info (actually, yeah, I probably would now that I think of it. As you are on a bunch of sites you must keep your email public on at least one of them. And your email would go a long way lol).

This is just theory crafting not actual consideration. As the only site I know Mike visits is Animesuki and I heard that like, years ago (I actually did once see him there iirc someone linked to a thread and I saw him).

I did not "choose to make it public". I chose to make it such that people could find it if they knew me, but not that it could be shared around the entire internet.

It's like you can say you did not want to kill someone, but manslaughter is manslaughter. You can say you did not want to share, but you shared, you gave out large amounts of identifiable information permanently recorded in this forum, and you placed the information there.

Honestly, I should not have to worry about whether I can tell people what university I went to or what subject I did. That is not good for the forum, not one bit.

Well, that depends on how Neir acts when he returns. I've forgiven Flame already, and I quite explicitly did not ask for Neir to be permabanned (indeed, I was opposed to it). If he apologises and says it was a mistake, then I'll forgive him for it.

Also, maybe you should start sterilizing your past posts, just to be safe. Talk to the mods about it. I think it is better to be safe than sorry.

No, because I don't want to "sterilise" my posts, and nor should it be necessary to do so. People should be able to speak freely without being threatened. Plus, it's kind-of pointless now that Neir has shared the link. Anyone who is likely to care will be able to find me anyway.

Well, I can understand that, because I am certainly prone to feeling "bitter and vengeful". But, he has not been permanently banned, and I did not ask for him to be. Of course, if he starts abusing the information, then I would be much more inclined to ask for that....

Although, really, I'm not sure he could do all that much. My facebook account has no incriminating information on it, and he can't prove that the account he linked to is me. Further, this site is hosted in the US, so even the British government couldn't get my details from here without the admins' approval (or a hell of a lot of searching, which I doubt they have time to do).

Plus, the admins have his e-mail address and date of birth, and I can't imagine they'd just sit there and let him get away with something like that. Not to mention that I suspect other people on this site do know who he really is, and if he were to be such a dick they might be inclined to fight back....
