So it's finally happening? This will be interesting. I'll try and get my friend to watch this.
Funnily, reruns of the old series are running on Viva right now.
Can Kotono still do her high-pitched, motor-mouth Usagi voice...?
Better get those lozenges handly.
Kotono is voicing Usagi. All's right with the world.
This time, I'll watch Sailor Moon without pretending that "Itotallywasn'twaitingforthenextepisodebecauseImno tafag" mentality I had in grade school.
How long do you guys think the series is going to be? I'd imagine that they can squeeze at least 50 episodes (~3 seasons) out of it.

I marathoned the entire series a few months ago in preparation for this. Nice to be finally getting a concrete release date.
Depends what approach they're going to be taking. They could draw it out to ridiculous lengths like the old one did, or they could just be going for a quick series to revive interest in it. The manga is ridiculously short compared to the old anime after all. The first arc would probably be able to fit in 1 cour with room to spare.
I think they did say it was supposed to be a more manga faithful adaptation. Like FMA Brotherhood compared to the original series.

The are releasing it bi-weekly.
There is no chance this is 13 ep, Sailor Moon is too big for that.
However, the "old series" number of episodes (30-50) feel unlikely, because bi-weekly means it will run for years.
Probably 20+.
If you go by volumes and assuming they're adapting the entire thing, 3-4 cour seems likely to me, depending on how they pace it.

The old series was chalk-full of filler and had a slug's pacing. And they're releasing one episode every other week.

Seems the series is going to be airing during Prime Time in Japan. 3:00 AM where I live, so there'll probably be subs by the time I wake up on Saturdays.
