It's hard remembering that the 5th War Servants are super top tier and OP and that despite all his achievements, Link isn't naturally ridiculously strong when someone (paraphrasing w/connotations) calls him shitty shit tier.
Like, it's a knee-jerk reaction to someone badmouthing a popular character from your childhood.
Like, I don't see Link as an All-A's Servant, but I highly doubt he's all E's either.

I'm not really bad-mouthing Link, I'm just saying he's not like super McAwesome-sauce compared to most of the Servants. He's a relatively strong human, has lots of decent-cool gadgets, and is likely around Emiya or Robin Hood's level in pure stats.
He'd probably get skills mostly related to being able to take advantage of an enemy's weakness and his bravery.

I don't know why people keep saying robin hood stats and implying they're bad. Because Robin actually has decent stats 2 Cs 3 Bs just like Shirou Saber. In fact his stats are a lot better than EMIYA's.

Discounting pluses and adding the stats as an aggregate and including some random people, it goes Gilgamesh (Extra Materials+Tokiomi), Oda, Gilgamesh(CCC) = Chiron, Gilgamesh (Kotomine), Robin, David, Atalanta = No Name, EMIYA.
So yeah EMIYA's actually stat wise the worst Archer seen.

Not exactly super powerful, but he is neither as weak or defenseless as people make him look. The guy has on his belt at least one god, at least a guy who surpased said god, and several creatures than are just too powerful for a "just peak human" to beat. He is no Saber, that's for sure. But I could see him being on the level of EMIYA when it comes to physical stats.
Basically this:
Take into account, Megas, that what you said made Link sound bad. He is above peak human, but he isn't overly super human. Still powerful enough to have killed gods, though. Or at least, skilled enough.

I mean, he hasn't been able to defeat Ocarina of Time because he's scared of the Shadow Temple and he's ADD enough to have left off right before the final dungeon in Wind Waker and he hasn't done more than run around as a wolf for half an hour in Twilight Princess and shit, what is up with that guy? I said he gets wrecked by most servants, and he dies in either the fourth or fifth war, because he kinda does. So would a lot of video game character leads.
Really, I play Zelda games a ridiculous amount, and there's rarely a month that goes by where I don't replay at least one of the games. It's not like I think Link is a weakling, I just don't really think he's like on the level of people like Diarmuid, Artoria, Iskandar, or Gil. Well, unless everyone can be stunned by the magical power of the boomerang and deku nuts.
Link's power is in his courage, tools, and puzzle-solving skills, not in his physical power, speed, endurance, etc. etc.. If you think about it, that's kinda like EMIYA where the power isn't actually in raw stats.
The problem is that the Holy Grail War isn't filled with average heroic spirits, it's filled with monster level heroic spirits who have ridiculous mastery of their weapons for the most part, can outrun bullets, and create freaking craters in the ground with their strikes. That isn't Link from any evidence I've seen.
Also, combing Hyrule Historia for this reincarnation claim, and so far I've come up empty handed, anyone have like a page number or something where this is mentioned?

I had forgotten David's stats were so low. I didn't realize he was below even Robin, who gets ragged on for being a shit Archer.
At least Dave makes up for it with ridiculous Noble Phantasms.
