ah, I play Tri fairly regularly now

I usually (and by usually, I mean always) go lancer

too bad I'm only HR13 and stuck on level 4 village quests atm lol

Playing Freedom Unite on the Vita works really well. You can assign the right stick as the D-Pad, so that nightmare with the camera is finally over.

Now... just praying that 4 gets a Vita release was well.

Been playing Portable 3rd (on the Vita) off and on when I'm not being distracted by Persona or Disgaea. Which isn't often, granted. I roll with Sword & Board just because I like the balance, even though it doesn't really excel at anything, either.

And I second that comment about the analog stick. It's great. Though sometimes it's a bit twitchy and likes to pan the camera up and down when all I want to do is rotate it.

Got MonHun on the 3DS a few weeks back; the pad expansion helps the controls a bit, but it's still clunky as hell; the game is pretty fun though. I play around with a lot of weapons, but I main the long sword for the most part. Farming the Doboruberuku right now for armor crafting.

Sadly, I just have Tri, and no system able to play any of the other games...
But: I use Hammers, Longswords, and Bowguns really well. I'm okay with Switch-Axes and Sword'n'Shield, but I do poorly with Great Swords and Lances.

A cousin of mine just started playing the series, and challenged me to use over-forged Rathian armor and the Alatreon Metamorph. Only.
Not sure if that was a good idea or not, but I'm not all that worried anyway. I have enough materials to get my old armor set(s) back, and the weapons (except Barbarian Blade, but I'm not going to cry over spilt milk XP ).

As much as I like how the Lances look and fight, I just plain suck at them. I mostly bring Bowguns and bombs.

Uragaan are a serious pain, no matter the rank. Same with Barioth and Diablos. Ugh, hate those things.

It is important to remember... I have never used the wifi functions for my Wii. Fighting them things solo is a bitch.

It can get worse online, with some people using Great Swords, Hammers, and Switch-Axes with little care for team-play.

Fuuu
Switch Axe is basically the bait+attacker unit. That high move speed + phial damage can add up if you can connect with it, and being nimble enough to dodge is nice.
Great Sword is slow but powerful, and works best if the other characters stun it so they can rack up damage while it's weak, knocked over, or otherwise not moving. Same for hammers, who should focus on head-bashing.

Don't have any for the consoles though. Also got more interested in God Eater as killing monster there actually had an effect (i.e. actual storyline).

Hmm...why is there such a large population of Wyverns again? Seems like such a dangerous world, no wonder the towns are so few & far from each other.

MH3 Ultimate trailer is out


I was expecting something a little more graphically impressive, not what basically amounts to the same polygon count and texture resolution as MHTri but with better lighting and shadows put out at 1080p. Not to say that it doesn't look very nice, just that the WiiU version of MH3U doesn't look as good as it could be.
