Wait he executed a few million people and he's supposed to be a super hero?

He's not, and that's the point.
The notion of a hero who would turn to torture and sadism like that was unthinkable at the time. Better yet, there's no effort made to excuse his crimes with some sort of possession or mind control the way it gets retconned away in comics these days. The dude was essentially Uryuu with superpowers.
Basically think it like this: You have an eight year old who can transform into a super-powered kid with unlimited power when they say a word. One day, the people who helped to mentor the kid supposedly die, and for all the kid knows he is alone. Because he is a scared little eight year old kid, he decides to STAY in his super powered body to feel safer. He then grows up in it. Grows up having unlimited power in a world full of weaker beings. And most importantly, now nobody is around to tell the kid what to do.
He can now do anything he likes.
And thus, that super-powered kid grew up and became a psychopath.

It's also the reason why Miracleman was forced to put Kid down.

Alan Moore wrote some of it? Now I'm really wary. I've never been a big fan of his. Maybe the Hellblazer stuff, but little else.
Binged All Of Gundam In 4 Years, 1 Week and All I Got Was This Stupid Mask
FF XIV: Walked to the End
Started Legend of the Galactic Heroes (14/07/23), pray for me.
Miracleman was made when he just started, so while it's heavy on the prose in the first two books it gets better every issue.
And since this is when he just started, Miracleman is absolutely brilliant. Especially since all three of the big British writers now have a hand in this thing. Alan Moore did the first three books, Gaiman continues after him and picking up from where Moore left off, and Morrison wrote a side-chapter.
But yeah, Moore is coco for coca puffs, but he can still be a damn good writer. Though that was more of the truth back then than it is now.

Never been much a fan of Jessica Jones, will only watch because Daredevil impressed me so much (and I want to be caught up with everything for Defenders).
Lancer x Archer OTPSpoiler:
I'll be watching Jessica Jones because of a) Daredevil and b) David Tennant.
Although the fact that showrunner for this series is a person, who was a scriptwrighter for a Twilight really bothers me.
urgh Defenders, something has always bothered me about that name.
How good is Daredevil? is it better than Agents of Shield because that kinda wasn't what I was expecting at all.
