Guardians of the galaxy 2 are great. Not sure if I liked how Yondu and Rocket bonded over a single dialogue, but eh. At least, Groot fetch scene left me in stitches, so their Caribbean stuff was welcome.

I'd love to rewatch in English, but later, I guess.

We already had one of those. It was quite good, even.

They're both bad. The first had SOME stuff in it that was neat but that second one, woof.

    Just watched Homecoming today.

    just in case

I really liked the opening scene, I thought it will be the generic "hero fighting small villains until the real threat shows up" that superhero movies love to do, but nope.
The movie is very action packed too, yet alternating with Peter's everyday life which is great.
And for someone who doesn't give a damn about symbolism and meaning in entertainment such as myself, they successfully deliver the whole responsibility theme without a need to deeply analyze the movie.
Vulture as the usual Spiderman movie villains that not named Electro and Venom, is a very great movie character. He is not just there as a threat like most MCU villains are, we constantly see his POV, it almost like he is a villain protagonist; like Dr. Ock, Sandman and Lizard before him.

Spidey was funny, which is more than can be said for the last five Spider-Man movies, so, yeah.

Or, okay, intentionally funny. Spider-Man 3 was funny for all the wrong reasons.

Spidey was funny in the first movie (see him making fun of Bonesaw, for instance), and both the first and second movies had funny scenes. Your mileage may vary on whether it was enough, but there were plenty of jokes in the Raimi trilogy, it wasn't only drama.

They had funny moments, but Peter was not exactly funny. He has all of like, two quips, and with Tobey's delivery, they have a really long windup for very little payoff. The Spider-Man 2 video game gets it right, but this is the first time we have a Peter that's really kinda a rapid-fire motor mouth.

Hm, I see your point. Well, I'm a huge fan of the first two Raimi movies - especially the first one -, but I'm ready to (hopefully) love this one, too!

    Just saw the new Spiderman.
    Spoiler:
I liked it, but the final fight scene on the plane was difficult to follow. The humor was great (damn you Steve) and the students were all fleshed out. It's pretty obvious that Peter's not ready to be an Avenger yet, so it's good that he refused. All of that collateral damage, too boy.

But man, that moment where the Vulture realizes Peter is Spidey. And you thought normal date Dads were bad. As usual, RIP Peter's love life (but at least Liz wasn't Gwen). The Vulture was pretty sympathetic, but I'm still surprised that he kept Spidey's identity secret. I wonder what member of Spidey's rogues gallery we'll see next. Morbius? The Hobgoblin?

And wow, Tony and Pepper are together again? I wonder what caused that (besides Gwyneth Paltrow's schedule opening up).

The guy that Vulture gang make a deal with in ferry ship is Mac Gargan, aka Scorpion. He also have a scorpion tatto and make an appearance during the first credit scene.

I also wonder if, in this re-imagining for modern times, they'll have Peter become a vblogger rather than a photographer, which makes that opening sequence even more perfect

Watched the movie yesterday. It was... ...pretty great. I do wish it didn't treat the viewers like morons, though, and that

    Spoiler:
the Vulture was actually defeated by Spidey, as opposed to basically defeating himself.
