Wait does this mean kids have to study Dawkins now???
Our R.E. teacher was a pretty clear atheist, but was adamant that he couldn't say it out loud because he had to avoid biasing us in any way possible during the kind of lessons he was teaching. Which was a fair position to take.
And, given the current religious make-up of the UK, where non-religious people are hot on the heels of Christians while everyone else dawdles far behind, I think it is appropriate to include it in the curriculum at this point.

Non-religion is a weird demographic, because it includes not only atheists, but also agnostics, lots of spiritualists, and even some people who are just too embarrassed/private to talk about their beliefs.
The 21st century is an ace time to be a pagan IMO.
