No, but then I can't really see myself retiring anywhere but Google or Blizzard Entertainment or something.

From my experience, larger/famous companies often have very rigid and impersonal career paths/policies that disregard "how good you are in x" in favor of "how long have you been x", and smaller companies are more likely to look at your individual skill/involvement/contribution. There's nothing wrong with working for a smaller company, especially if they pay you more.
Once you're at a qualification level where even the larger companies start scouting you personally, the tables might turn around.

Ah, I see. I hear this has a more "startup" environment so it'll be interesting. The last startup I interviewed for looked like an artist computer lab, was lined with Macs, and had a bookshelf of Naruto manga filled end to end.

I'm already at the "scouted by large companies" part though which is why I wasn't sure about turning it down lool

It's normal nowadays for people to switch around where they work every few years, so it's not like you'd be the exception. You can still work your way up in a company, but often the biggest salary jump you'll get is not from a raise on the inside but when another company wants to hire you out of your current job instead. What's your field? Obviously if you're a doctor or a lawyer or something then it's different since you set up your own practice eventually.

just now, I have an opportunity to apply for musical instrument repair tech. I'm very surprised I got a response and I'm interested because I'm a music major dropout

so im pretty nervous but I'm going through with it.

I think the food industry is one place you could work your way up into a lifelong position. There's two guys who were the managers at the Chickfila I worked at when I was like 15 and they're still the managers/franchise owners there. They probably make good money.

But you should go for it. You're young and can always just get another job if it doesn't work.
