how is your house still standing with all that ticking?
its a very large, very old pendulum clock. not these newfangled fakes.
you get used to it. honestly, the only times you really notice it is when it stops ticking and gong'ing on the hour. it's actually nice to have the steady background noise.
Clock noises are pretty soothing. Then again, I haven't had any unfortunate encounters with giant crocodiles to influence me otherwise.

I hate clocks and ticking noises. I took down or took apart every clock in my house years ago and I've stopped my grandfather clock too. I hate them. So much.
When I go to sleep I put my desk clock on my chair and then shove as much clothes as I can onto it so I don't hear the ticking noise when trying to sleep.
