It was supposed to be a stress relieving toy but now has sadly become a meme. So now it's more likely that the people buying them don't need them and only want to get in on the fad.

its not a stress relief toy. it's a tool for people with sensory overload issues to have a focus activity to keep their mind trained to a single task instead of becoming overwhelmed with excessive input from their environment.
