That's honestly all I got. I don't have any special ways to grow my hair out, just happens naturally. I don't trim it either, and it can get pretty thick/bushy.

On the contrary you definitely should cut it or it will grow out really weird looking.

I do it when I get sick of maintaining it or it's the summer and having it like that is a demerit.

Yeah I am at least aware of trimming periodically to prevent bad growth
