the terminology of 'transformative' works [e.g. as in AO3's tagline] which is to say the conceptual dichotomy of transformative/curative fandoms [which originates from, of all places, a reddit post of several years vintage] is foundationally incoherent and should be scrapped. among other things it fails to recognise each side's containing a moment of the opposite. a straitjacket which must be done away with if fanfiction is to be something more than pornography. it won't be, of course, but at least it's clear where the exit is

So, basically, what you're really doing here is being pretentious, while passive-aggressively insulting anyone who took pride in writing decent, non-pornographic fanfiction for a reason you won't even say.
