I mean, I know that feel, but sometimes you wanna have something different.
even if you don’t mean to, if your family taught you to cook then whatever you make is going to basically resemble their food. So if I make stew, it tastes like my mom’s stew. If I make fried spaghetti, it taste like my grandpa’s fried spaghetti, etcetera. And I’m proud at having learned some of their secrets, but sometimes you want a meal that doesn’t use that old family recipe, if that makes sense.
Okay, this i can relate. Although, when I want to eat something new, i just look it up and learn how to do it. But this is probably because I like cooking as much as i like eating.

I don't generally go for ribs, but you're certainly making a case for this whole Korean BBQ thing I've heard so much about

I’m already going against my people to admit that several types of beef barbecue are good and that beef in general is a more flavorful and complex meat to work with that can be quite interesting when cooked right, please understand that even that much is an astounding sacrifice that forced my tribe to exile me
