To me, the brain is just another component that helps you survive, and anything that has a brain that fails to function that way, is stupid. This isn't in any way limited to kids of course, but kids are stuck that way until their brain has had time to develop. Just because you are intelligent (which is a very relative thing) doesn't mean you are not stupid.

If there is no standard, you cannot make a qualitative claim about a generalized group of people.

    It's really that simple.

Anyways, the conventional understanding of stupidity vs. intelligence is that they are a dichotomy, so if you're going to utilize a model that allows duality, you have to note that, or no one will know what you mean by "stupid".

And on that note, kids are brilliant survivors. Their incredible, innate ability to emotionally manipulate their parents is ridiculous. There's really nothing quite like it.

Haven't they done test where they left kids without human contact (Now, I do not know, but I take it they fed them some other way, or this test must have been pretty silly.) and they just died off on their own?

I mean if you put a kid in a forrest, he is not going to become Tarzan, he is going to squirm and then he is going to die, and will more likely then not be eaten, possibly alive.

That's hardly a case of stupidity. It has much more to do with their physical inability to do anything for a couple of years. How is something that can't even crawl supposed to survive on its own?

It's already a given that a newborn cannot survive without assistance. This is a universal rule. That's why they're born with survival instincts that emphasize the manipulation of possible parent figures into providing for them, until they are physically developed.

The minor things can cause the greatest happiness.
Simple things, like flowers growing peacefully on a mild spring day.... or the sound of young children innocently playing around in the park..... or the simple smell of freshly cut grass.

Alas, for the dissatisfied, it is always the simple things which we cling on to. For this 'happiness'.

Ahh... it is amazing how words can be manipulated into something which is the opposite of minor things causing the greatest happiness.

Though the act of manipulation may be happiness in itself.

for me, yes. manipulation is what i like to do. whether it be technical manipulation (physical skill) or word manipulation for fun, i enjoy it. now if i'm actually pissed or spiteful, i also take my hand in manipulating intentions and seeing other's relationships get out of control. i'm a pretty big asshole sometimes.
