Thank you for thinking that, but sadly many people dislike it. The PSP port did a good job on making the game more accessible (soundtrack aside) but many people still dislike it. It was my first Megaten game, but I acknowledge the fact that the random encounter rate is very high, the contact system is horrible and too fickle, running away from a fight is always a gamble, some weapons are pretty much useless, Hama/Mudo is broken, the game doesn't bother to tell you the actual resistances of the enemies, many Personas suck so every single playthrough is just using the same ones that are actually good since the beginning. That being said, all of those complaints still apply to old Megaten games as well.
