Part Japanese company power dynamics, part bad decision making about drinking stemming from already being drunk, and a large part getting bamboozled by whiskey (my normal hard stop point is tuned to drinking beer, but a stomach full of whiskey waiting to hit your bloodstream is a very different beast)
