I still remember when "Where My Peeps At?" was inescapable on the internet and real life for a period of time I want to say in the early 2010s.

Lego Masters Australia has begun for 2024 and once again, I am perplexed by anyone with long hair who doesn't tie it up when you're doing things that put it constantly in your face. How do you live? I would kill myself. Mine's constantly in a ponytail for this reason.
The Lego Masters starting just as the U.S. Masters ends... I see how it is.

It never fails to annoy me that no matter how many times I click on the "suggestion is wrong" button when Word or Google Docs tries to "spell check" me for using British English, the programme never seems to learn and so anything I write is just full of red squiggles.

Click on file, click on language, problem solved for google docs. I assume there's something similar for word.
The solution is probably to change keyboard language to British English, but then you have to deal with fun stuff like @ being on the " button. Incredibly annoying minor nuisance, that.

I always end up cutting my hair short on the cusp figuring out how to use hairties.
shit BL says
Once and always and nevermore.
Really? I've never had that and I don't think there's a Canadian English setting, so I must be using British.

See, if I did that, I just know my hair would be in my face even more unless I kept it extremely short, because I inherited exactly one physical characteristic from my mother and it's the unruly, gravity-defying nature of her hair. Gotta keep it long to weigh it down/keep it ponytailable.
actually no wait I also got her permanently flat stomach. sorry for slandering you, mother. two things.

I'm afraid that doesn't work as both are already set to "English (United Kingdom)" - heck on Google Docs it even asks me if I want to switch to the American English setting every time i click for more details on a supposedly misspelt word.

That's so strange, I use British English and the "corrections" go away the moment I change the setting for the individual document.

Thank you for teaching me, ファイブエックスさん。I will now enter the realm of full, unrestrained cringe.

Packing. Found this and started thinking about how this isn't the worst present I've ever received, but it's sort of up there. Really reflects the person who gifted it. I heard later that she was mad I didn't gift it back to her to read. I need to list it on eBay.
Spoiler:
Aside from the introduction, the pages weren't chosen because they were the "worst of", more that they neatly represent the whole product. Hollow. Blandly inoffensive unless you're an unusually conservative individual. A criminal waste of trees. Twee. Your mind conjures up images of who, exactly, this book is for, and you find that individual severely wanting.
It's not that serious, but it is sort of repulsive, if you allow yourself to be repulsed. Or maybe it's just a decade's worth of disdain for the gifter finding its release by shitting on a picture book for adults that promises to contain hidden truths such as - get this - have you ever noticed that trees are green? Ah, you haven't, have you? That's why you need to buy this book! No need to pay attention in the moment, Miranda Keeling can do that for you to the tune of 36AUD. Come on, buy some mindfulness.
That book is the saddest replication of the Shivers skill narration from Disco Elysium that I've ever seen.

I really hate every single instance of "oh my god modern art is so difficult to understand, I mean what even is art now?", especially how every joke of the type never fails to make me laugh

Honestly I can't conjure up that much hate about the book or her work. If it's presented to me unpretentiously, I don't mind it.

To get in the correct mindset, you have to picture being gifted this book by a bad person you don't like.

That being said, the whole affair does kind of redeem itself with the reveal that it was probably only given to me because she wanted to read it, given her passive aggressive saltiness that she didn't get to despite not being clear about her wishes in the first place. Actively wanting to read this book... now that's a funny joke.
