It's important to remember people: just because someone is a danger to themselves and everyone around them, that doesn't give you the right to physically restrain them.
These people are sick and deserve our sympathy and understanding, no matter how many people's eyes they've gouged out.
Tying them up would be wrong.
What about psychic restraints? If there’s one thing I learned from comics it’s that psych units are chock full of telepaths
They made a mistake rolling all that back. People just get left to fend for themselves now.

Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.
The real mistake is a severe underfunding leading to an admit-discharge-admit-discharge-admit model that leaves these people entirely unhelped instead of making progress and getting better before it gets this severe
but sure let’s go the archaic route
shall we also restart electroshock for hysteria, as well?
The problem is that a lot of homeless people, for instance, have mental issues and can't take care of themselves. They need somewhere to be taken care of and treated instead of just letting them out into the streets, and you can't really expect a hospital to do that full time. The system definitely had reformable problems, but it was better than just giving up on it. Instead, most of these people either end up homeless or in prison, which we're paying for anyway and makes it worse.

None of the bands posted or the e-sports teams I know of had a rule of "dudes only". They simply happened to be composed entirely of dudes (and the reason I didn't mention it is because I really don't want to backslide into "but why are there no women there?" ). And like I said, IDOLS make shittons of money. So make some more idols. Why even bother setting them up as an 'e-sports' team when every time someone's tried to set up an 'all girl' e-sports team they've failed miserably?
Heck, I HOPE that doesn't happen again and they actually manage to make an all-female (or more likely, mixed) e-sports team that can actually compete somewhere, because as already observed there's a dearth of female gamers on the global stage, for the games I follow at least. But this is just another publicity stunt.

I'm sure they never had a sign on the wall saying "NO GRILLS ALOUD" but that's not the point. These things aren't literally spelled out anywhere, they're social and cultural constructions. It's a big part of the same reason why women only represent 5% of Fortune 500 CEOs; I'm pretty sure these companies don't have a hard and fast rule on paper that disallow women from holding top positions. It's never a case of "simply happened to be composed entirely of dudes" when it's that widespread.
If companies want to make an all-female or all-male group of whatever, and there's a niche for it and they put effort into it, no reason to think they're fundamentally doomed to fail. Same with this, just because they're all one (female) gender.
