It's even worse since there wasn't much action this season. (lol bees) Could have prepared at least one decent looking fight.

The next one isn't that better either.

Last season only had 3 fights total but all were at least decent. The Ghost fight was a fun opening, the Qrow vs Tyrian was solid and the Horseman was at least competent and had story weight behind it. Jaune vs Cinder? Seriously?

I wonder if they're just gonna end up scrambling to finish the series at some point. Seems like they've been floundering in content areas despite better technology when making the show.

I dropped the show after the airship fight in ep 2. A scene like that back when Monty was at the helm would've been so freaking awesome, with the potential for all kinds of crazy aero-acrobatic stunts. Instead, Weiss stayed in the cargo hold flinging boxes at the Grimm for 90% of the fight, with only a brief and frankly lackluster scene of midair combat at the end.

Rwby shone when it was a chance for Monty to showcase his insane action sequences. While the technical merits have clearly improved, there's just nothing to set it apart from any other half-decent fantasy anime anymore.

Maybe not, but I think anyone can see it's changed significantly since then.

Objectively Rwby's actually gotten better in almost every way (character art, backgrounds, story, etc), but in exchange for losing the one thing that made it truly special (Monty's crazy action scenes) along the way.

I was more pissed off at the hurl than the landing; That kind of attack would be more likely to scratch or bounce off a person rather than impale them. Any proper Lancer would be embarrassed. :3

Well, 12 is way better than 11. Better fights, better story, better twists. Only one real stupid "She's right there looking the other way, Fucking Stab Her!" moment.

The entire situation made it impossible for that to happen.

It only works if you remove all context and just leave. "She's facing the other way" as the sole attribute.
