Magic pigs that can apparently survive being hit with attacks that instantly kills everything else if not strong enough. (Hawk survived the Dark Snow thing, his mother ate a purgatory flame bird like it was an appetizer)

True enough, I suppose.
Anyway, King proves himself to be mighty indeed. Shame he lacks the power to bring it out at full power all the time, but then he'd be too OP... and when are we going to see him just petrify them instead of taking the hard route of obliterating them entirely.

Who knows? Maybe it only works on certain life forms? The Petrification ability. Maybe it only works on Humans or members of the other tribes due to the Fairy King's role as the forest's protector. Hmm one of the things I like the most about this series is that there isn't much that could potentially be NLF. Meliodas' Counter only works on certain kinds of attacks, Ban's Snatch has a limit and side effects, Gowther's Invasion isn't permanent, etc.

True. And it's good to see the Sins realistically struggle for their wins. Guila wasn't just all explosions, but did her research every step of the way to keep ahead until she got frustrated enough to slip up, for example.

Part of that was also them not taking her seriously and goofing off, but the fact that she was able to research them and at least provide a decent challenge even if she had no chance of winning says a lot.

Considering the current state of this manga, the aforementioned words are still pretty true
So uh, yeah, war crime goddesses
Good timing since the Sins just reunited.

So I watched episode 18 of season 2 this morning. Did anyone else find the backstory on Escanor's sin really underwhelming? Meliodas destroys a whole kingdom in a blind rage, Diane and Ban were falsely accused of killing the chief of her tribe and massacring dozens of holy knights to cover it up and burning down the fairy forest respectively, and Escanor… accidentally broke his brother's arm as a kid?
Are we seriously supposed to believe he was declared a wanted criminal and hunted down by his own kingdom just for that? Honestly, his parent's reactions were so over-the-top it was almost hilarious. Not to mention, they live in a world where seemingly any human with a bit of training can perform blatantly superhuman feats, so acting like Escanor's super-strength as a kid made him a "monster" was pretty silly.
Also, wasn't the bracelet Merlin put on Gowther supposed to keep him from betraying the other Sins or using his mindfucking powers on them? That didn't seem to work very well...

Escanor is shitty in general so you should just stop expecting anything from him now, all he's there for is destroying tension.
I've enjoyed Escanor so far, but given how much he's been hyped up I was expecting a lot more from his sin. As well as being underwhelming, it also had literally nothing to do with pride. While the series can sometimes be pretty loose about what sins the main characters are supposed to represent, it's usually at least fairly clear from their backstories. How does accidentally breaking somebody's arm equate to pride?
BTW thanks for replying. I was worried this thread was dead...
This is not the backstory of Escanor. A backstory is supposed to explain and tell a story ... Who is Rosa? You don't know. And as the anime is badly, they have forgotten the traces of burns of Rosa's hands ...
Escanor's backstory has not even been shown in the manga yet. This passage is just teasing.
Just watched episode 21 of the second season this afternoon. The reveal that Meliodas knew Elizabeth when she was a baby makes him look like some kind of child-groomer. Even given the whole reincarnation angle, that is creepy af. Other than that, it was a pretty good episode. It was nice to see Elizabeth can hold her own and not collapse into a helpless puddle of tears without Meliodas around. Girl is amazingly strong-willed, even if that side doesn't get shown as much when she's fawning over Meliodas.
Of course, it's pretty obvious Meliodas is going to come back sometime in the next few episodes, what with being the main character in a shonen manga/anime and all. Still, I think I'd prefer him to stay dead for a little longer, to give Elizabeth a chance to be the main heroine for a bit. It'd be awesome if she actually takes out Estarossa with her super druid powers (since it's heavily implied Escanor is going to get worfed), and says something like "That's what you get for killing my man!".
