    It's a soft cap. Basically, you should be looking to wrap your story up if you're hitting the 10,000 word point, but you shouldn't fret too hard about trying to fit your masterful epic fanfiction of colossal scope and quality into just 10,000 words.

    I have an idea starting to form, but I have no idea if it will fall under drama or action. I guess I will go under undecided for now. (This is what I needed, having writer's block since november, so this will hopefully get some ideas around and have something fresh to work with)

    Also, does the written work have to have a sense of closure (one-shot format) or can we leave it like a continuing story format for it to become a full blown story if we choose to do so?
