I'm a little less than half-way through chapter 8. I'm certainly not the most qualified for the job, but I think I've been doing a pretty okay job so far.

When the next translation patch will come out will it release only chapter 8 or the rest of the chapters? (if the patch is always under development)
They could work together and then read each other translation to figure out any error, BUT as I seen most translators don't like the idea, idk why..
Yeah, why don't they add more work to their plate by having to also read another person's stuff and then figure out the 744 completely different terms they went with, where those terms appear, and how those terms match and mesh with your own, and then read the 12,921 completely different sentence structures they went with, where those sentences appear, and how the style and flow of those sentences match up with your own, all while being unpaid, I can't imagine
Localizationing stuff
mfw those numbers just might be a real thing
Eh, you might go to far here, most terms that aren't new are already settled for, yea they would need to come up with new stuff for everything nasu introduces in mahoyo but you know its 2018 right? Stuff like discord exist, they could just msg each other about it.. Probably less work than translating the whole stuff by yourself.. There are translation groups doing this kind of stuff, and while they are indeed paid for it I am sure they aren't doing it just to make the translation process longer
Yes, of which GO and Extella have terms that do not match.
Terms are a pretty minor thing honestly, but let me put it this way: how about how a variety of people render 魔術.
Mirror Moon FSN: Magic
Mew in his CM3 translations: Magic
Mcjon's Encyclopedia/Mahoyo: Sorcery
Fate/Extra NA: Magic
FGO NA: Magecraft
So, what then about 魔法?
Mirror Moon: Sorcery
Mew: Sorcery
Mcjon: Magic
FGO NA: Magic
So, which one is it? Which one is this mythical "already settled for" terms is the right one for each?
The correct answer is: there is no "already settled for" terms. Much less more complicated things like character voice, narrative style, and overall execution.
Localizationing stuff
As I said 2-3 guys could probably settle for one during a couple msg exchange.. If not we'll to bad, that might be a reason why translators don't to it.. I didn't say they have to do it and I wasn't against it, but it could be def be done a lot faster if some translators worked together
actually sometimes more translators means slower progress
its like magic but it happens
I think you mean sorcery
of course, silly me
OMG, this thread is alive! Even if there is no advancement at all, it makes me happy, dunno why.
Silly me, I must be still clinging to hope, like I do with the gacha... I never learn. orz
This made me laugh more than it should... so now I feel stupid.
(...I don't think I have posted this year, so here is my annual quota...)
ppl still working on the translation or is it done where it is?
