If you just accept "gifts" from "grateful fans" then you're not doing it for profit and it's all fine.

The FGO NA team is about as offical as any fan translator considering they get manhandled by the JP branch every step of the way.
anyway, I finished translating chapter 1 back on the 18th. I don't exactly remember the amount of text in every chapter, but assuming it's roughly the same it takes 3 days for me to translate one chapter.
the only reason it hasn't been translated yet is that it inflicts everyone working on it with a curse of not caring.

I'm pretty sure a big reason of why he (seemingly) stopped working on this project is that he has no interest in going through his scripts of the first few chapters and fixing every TL error in them, I don't think money is going to improve his motivation to do it.

So you are telling me that you're fully aware of how highly inaccurate several parts of your translation are, but wouldn't even care to go back and fix them if the project was otherwise 100% done?

The first chapter reads far better than every other TM game fan patch, it's just that as you have more experience, you realize how you could improve your earlier work.
