Well, that shows Caster was aware that someone was behind the whole mess, but not much more than that. I mean, personally I find it more likely that Hassan killed Kuzuki, Caster maybe slashed him (Hassan) with Rule Breaker without managing to break his contract, and then Hassan disappeared right on cue for Saber and Shirou to walk in and jump to conclusions. (Unless there's some element that explicitly suggests that Caster stabbed Kuzuki?)

Or what happened in Chaos Theory.

I find most things most likely than Zouken out-magecrafting Medea of Colchis, really. He's good, but nowhere near Age of the Gods good.

I always felt like that was a wasted potential, I get that Shirou starts treating Servants more as enemies than people but if they had just taken a moment to talk the story would have taken a completely different turn.

Well, that's a fair point. Different focuses for different routes and all that.What'd be nice would be a fourth route where somehow everyone sits down in Ahnenerbe and have a chill discussion about what they all want, and when they realize that in actual fact literally nobody even vaguely decent actually needs or wants the Grail, they all ally to kill Zouken and Shinji and Kirei and Gilgamesh.

I mean, in canon, ironically enough the closest we got was Caster's "we can share the Grail" shtick. Surely our protagonist, who wants nothing more in the entire universe than to save lives, would be open to negotiation.
