Miss Jarman said viciously: 'You must reallywant your money.'
'No.' Harvey shook his head wearily. 'It's not that, honey. He wants to be Caneton. And nobody ever beat Caneton. Yet.'
I said quickly: 'Bring the car through in fifteen minutes. Unless you hear shooting. Then you can decide for yourself.'
I walked away down the bank to the right, looking for the entrance to the communication trench. I found it and turned in.

For the record, Beckenbauer loses to Socrates in football as well.

Socrates' reply: Excellent job raising murderous conquerors, and getting the homicidal ultimate beings of each planet named after yourself.

Socrates fell down to the level of trashtalking, huh? Sad.
Trashtalking is literally all Socrates ever did. The guy's M.O. is walking up to people, asking them questions until they give an unclear answer or contradict themselves, go "SEE? YOU'RE AN IGNORANT FOOL!" and then run away before they ask him questions.

I love Monty python but this sketch, our "der Kaiser""皇帝" did not anything and he is not a Philosopher.

What other choice is there? According to several people who read those nauseatingly idealistic superhero comic books, ANY amount of killing is evil, so killing him would be evil, and letting him live a hollow life is pretty bad, too. Kirei's very life is basically "FU, do-gooders".

Very well. Because Heroic Spirit Chiron is weak to hydra poison, all I need do is get hemlock poison for Heroic Spirit Socrates, and this is ridiculously off-topic.
Actually, pretty much everything having to do with Gilgamesh is a derivation of various theories from greek philosophers, so it's pretty close to on-topic. Or at least close to the on-topicness of the previous off-topicness about Gilgamesh.
For obvious examples: His conversation with Kirei is him giving an interpretation of Aristotle's idea that everyone should seek 'happiness' and his 'original' Noble Phantasms is based on Plato's Theory of Forms.

Also the whole "denial of nothingness" thing sounds a bit like this.

@lolivamp: Wouldn't putting Kirei out of his misery be the lesser evil though?
Well, at least post-zero. I dunno, Kirei's characterization isn't as clear-cut to me.
I'm not even really trying to be philosophical about either Gil or Kirei though (I originally didn't really want to bring up Kirei). Neither of them are good in that they are only shown to cause harm, despair, irritation, etc. to others in the main continuity. If you met Gilgamesh he'd talk down to you and end you if you disagreed. If you met Kirei he'd probably try to do something terrible to you.
@Leo: It's a discussion of Gil from Fate, not the myth itself. We are aware of the (fictional) situation and context, so I figure there's more grounds to judge him. Hence, evil douche (imo).
I'm aware that judging history through a lens is a limited way of viewing history and can lead to misinterpretations, but there are certain constants I figure have always been around, such as killing people just because they disagree with you being a bad thing.
Sure, I get that. But Gil in Fate/Stay Night and Zero? He isn't good at all. In Extra it seems to me like he grows to care about the player character and goes off to chill with them in space or something, which was a nice thing to do for the player character considering the end of Extra. However in Fate/Zero he just manipulates Kirei to amuse himself and possibly to get back at Tokiomi for boring him, while in Fate/Stay Night he tries to force his waifu to marry him before covering the world in grail mud. Which is bad. I mean it's called "all the world's evils" and if evil is relative or subjective, then so is this mud and the entity at its source. Also, if Unlimited Codes is anything to go by then he pretty much intends to rape Saber after dumping her in the grail.
I don't know, I just look at this character, his actions, and his motivations, and I just think "what a dick. What a terrible human being demigod." Is it really that weird?

Fate/Extra CCC Labyrinth Box arrived.

That Nero art from the box set is pretty great.
@lolivamp: Joker's a bad example, since in the real world he would've been killed after the first 3 escapes from Arkham, and would've lost the insanity defense after the first.
Just because people like his character doesn't mean they would put up with him in the real world, imo.

Also, general question for this thread. I've seen that PSP games downloaded through the playstation network can be played on Vita. How likely is it that CCC would be released in the US in this fashion (assuming a translation is made)?
I would totally pick up a Vita for this game.
