It WAS rushed. They crammed like 4-5 chapters in 1 episode.

Yeah, I was kind of pissed that the skipped the Souma and Megumi teaching thing. That would have been a good first episode thing to have along with a recap of the tournament. I half thought they had it as an OVA that I missed.

The point of central is to become a wikihow for all cooking.

To not do that would be encouraging students to take freedom in their cooking, thus creating variety outside of what central deems worthy, thus defeating the purpose of central.

With this chapter being really cut and dry with the implication of how stale cooking would quickly become with them curbing creative thinking like that, it's just kind of strange to me when all the elites Soma and the crew are going to face in the future will probably come up with these amazing ideas that they'll have detailed explainations for like the series has always been.

I dunno maybe everything's just flying over my head.

Oh good we can finally have challenges that I actually care about. And this specific obstacle makes me wonder if Azami is testing them as successors to the vacant spots in the Elite Ten or is at least pretending that he is and will be forced to make good on it when the main cast inevitably passes.

I was honestly expecting those to be fake tickets or for their train to "randomly" leave early or something.

I was betting on the train leaving without them and Erina somehow saving the day once again since they really need to make sure we get that point lately.

They'd never do that though since Erina needs to pass or the school loses all credibility among their backers, and Azami gets booted. That's why Erina got all the easy assignments and top notch ingredients, so far.
