Hmm, I have heaps of favourite characters but I'll try list one for each game.
1: Marth, cause he's cool.
2: No real favourite, but maybe Cellica.
3: Marth, again.
4: Ira.
5: Roran was good for me, and he used a bow.
6: Of course Liliana, not even Roy can compete. FE6 was especially fun with a good difficulty level.
7: Raven, hands down awesome. Though I liked using Lyn as a character too, very fun to dodge everything.
8: Innes is a great character and even though he uses a BOW I took down an entire map with him. Want to include Ephraim as a close second.
9: Ike, the only character in FE where you can single-handedly take down he entire game. Nobody can deny him his glory. Though I will name a few more characters as this is my favourite FE game. Awesome characters list Shinon, Rolf, Nephenee, Lucia then Black Knight.
10: Out of the Dawn Brigade, only Sothe is good while Leonardo is decent. Looking back on it my favourite character in the game was probably Elincia with Ike and Zelgius following behind (would Zelgius count?).
11: Shiida, because the remake made her better than Marth. Hated the class-change system though because everybody could change while Marth was left out. The game still forced you to use Gotoh though.
12: They actually changed this game a lot even give you your character, so of course that is my favourite. Followed by Shiida and Marth.
13: I am sad, for I have yet to play FE13. I have a 3DS but no copy of the game, no money and no time to make the money.

Too bad it's impossible to solo run with anyone in FE8. That's disappointing, would have tried solo-Ephraim if I could.
The only reason you can't solo in FE8, the game literally doesn't let you. You are forced to play with at least 2 characters.
I tried a Lord-only run on FE8 and failed badly, Erika is too flimsy.

Seth can definitely solo FE8 if you take time to figure out how many weapons/healing items you need and figure out proper positioning.
Spent most of yesterday playing FE4 and an embarrassingly large amount of that time trying to get Tinny to stop suiciding into her brother/Shanan.
Oh yeah. I did a solo run with her. healed enough to promote her in the chapter I got her. Didn't use anyone else remainder of the game unless absolutely forced.

In FE8, you are forced to play Ephraim in 5x so I never bothered to genuinely solo-run.
Though Seth is definitely the easiest character to take the game with, his stats are rounded well so he can deal damage while taking hits.
Now that, that is hardcore.
