That and to stop the used games market, which is the one piece of this that has people pissed.

For example, read above and you see only "pre-approved" retailers can accept trade ins, how much you wanna bet it's because publishers not only want a cut, but also to cut off anyone else that's not them from doing so.

Gamestop and all those other places where you can trade in games are gonna be fine, but if you want to sell your games on your own (Ebay, Cheapass gamer) you're screwed.

It practically has three reasons: to stop piracy, to stop the used games market, and specially, to get money out of pretty much everything. They are so obvious about the last one that I'd almost find it offensive (I find it pretty funny).

Seriously, the box crashed trying to run Battlefield 4. Those free to play games? Still need to pay for gold for them. The only thing that intrigues me is Halo 5, and even then, that trailer really doesn't sell it for me. None of the other games that I'm interested in (MSG V, Destiny) are Xbone exclusive.

Also, with the english price, you're paying the equivalent of $600 US as the UK price is 429 pounds.

Damn right. Sony knows that $500 is basically a sales blocker, especially in this market. I'm expecting the PS4 to be about 400 dollars
