Both the english and japanese #FE switch port are based on the censored english wii u version, and the japanese fans are furious. Nintendo has apologized and is currently giving refunds.

Yeah, perhaps I was too eager to invest in Nintendo-published games, such as FE, Zelda, etc. Again, the safest place on consoles for me is non-Nintendo-published games on Nintendo consoles. Remember when age ratings actually meant something, or was that only for violence?

I can see why the Japanese fans would dislike it, but having played it censored the only two bits that bugged me were the missing DLC, and that one wedding dress costume that they obviously just painted over her cleavage, but that was so badly done I thought it was hilarious. The porn dungeon rework was fine, and the costumes from it were better than the originals.

See. You're entitled to your own opinion, but editing the game because of it is basically forcing said opinion down the throats of people who wanted the original version.

I too would prefer the uncensored version, but my point is that the one they're giving us isn't immediately worthless because of it. I can understand people hesitating on buying a game because of those changes, but it seems a bit strange to me that they were excited enough about the game to pre-order it five (?) months in advance, but the minute they hear there's no tits in it they rage and demand a refund. It's four costumes out of 70-ish and the wallpaper in a dungeon. The other fifty hours of the game are the same. Including the pedo furry music video.

Like how sony of america decided no more titty animes on playstation, which affects even japanese devs regardless of wheter theyre planning on releasing the game outside japan.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s actually for a mind-numbingly stupid reason like whoops we actually threw out the laptop with all the original code on it tehepero send us the us version so we can have an intern go through and type the Japanese script back into it by copying everything by hand while playing a copy of the original

I never understand censoring niche anime games (unless it bumps the game up to AO, but it's clearly not the case, as it is being released with the same age rating on Steam). Do you want to decrease your audience even further?

The censorship is the point. You imagine some slavish devotion to Puritan morals corrupting the industry, but in reality that’s nothing but a ghost, a phantom. They censor for the sake of censorship itself, knowing full well that the vocal minority that actually cares will proceed to go out and loudly market what they’re ACTUALLY selling, which is, in a word controversy. Outrage is the commodity of our times, and business is booming.

How does that work? I'm pretty sure that if people buy less from a particular company due to distaste of its practices, that company loses money.

There are far less people who won’t buy it because of the censorship than there are people who don’t care about the censorship and people who don’t even care about the game but will buy it and post about loving it and how the censorship actually improved it just to spite the people crying about censorship because they think the things you care about are dumb
