Poor platinum guys they put so much effort into it.
It did seem kind of meh but it was just in an early stage, though, I wasn't really excited.
At least they still have Nier:Automata, now that game has a lot of potential.

Scalebound seemed... pretty immature, honestly. From what I'd seen, it looked like some four-boy boyband, only without the great old friends thing Final Fantasy 15 had that lent it so much.
Speaking of cancelled stuff, I only found out lately but I can't believe Prey 2 was cancelled. The concept seemed so freaking good- space sheriff bounty hunter in an alien city- but then they cancelled that and went with the far less interesting sounding space station survival horror bioshock-wannabe superpowers in the end.

Prey 2 went through multiple developers and iterations before quietly vanishing.
"Prey" isn't even a reboot or anything, it's literally just using the same word because it's a good title and at the end of the day Prey is just a random XBOX game that never got a follow-up so who's stopping them?
Yeah, I read the Wikipedia article, said it had basically gone through a whole bunch of studios who all passed it on to other studios who either didn't want it or were busy with their own stuff at the time.
I just really hate the loss of that concept. So many interesting ways it could've gone.
