Sensor
In the world of magic, you posses the rare trait which awards you the title of sensor. As all mages give off their own unique magical signature, you can pick up on this and easily track specific targets so long as you can feel this out. Needless to say, this useful ability makes you an asset to your allies.
Elemental Affinity
The magical energy your body emits and creates is specially geared towards kneading a specific magical element. With this affinity, the amount of energy required to utilize a spell of the aligned element is reduced slightly and general effectiveness is increased. However, spells utilizing other elements are increased in cost.
Shadow Operative
Aside from magical prowess, you also possess a significant level of skill when it comes to the art of stealth. When sneaking around, you can easily conceal your presence and movements making it so that you can get the drop on unsuspecting enemies. Useful for both spying and sneak attacks, possession of such a skill reflects a more tactical mind.
Upstart
Freelancer only. You’ve only recently begun to develop as a mage and, therefore, do not possess the polished spells that others may. However, because you are an unknown, there is no record of who you are as a spellcaster and your tactics are something of a mystery as well.
Vast Mana
Your magical energy is unlike that of the typical mage. The mana your body produces is raw and untamed, making it hard to conceal; however, at the same time making it of a higher quality at lower levels. Individuals with this skill have their MP increased by 100; however, because their energy fluctuates, they can be detected even by those without a sensor trait.
Martial Artist
In an age where magical weapons are the norm, you have not forsaken the older practices of self-defense. Having studied the art of hand-to-hand combat at some point in your life, you’re still a threat even when fighting unarmed. As a result, you’re better at close-quarters combat than most and DEX increases by 2 ranks when using your fists to fight.
Mind’s Eye
Having trained both your mind and spirit intensively, you’ve gained a sixth sense-like alertness in regards to incoming danger. So long as you are able to keep your calm in battle, you are capable of sizing up the threat before you and determining the best plan of action, whether or not you can fully understand it or not.
Healthy Body
With the influence of magic on your body set aside, you have a rather clean bill of health and your body is strong. You recover faster than others when you have a chance to rest and you can overcome certain ailments at an accelerated rate.
Scholar Mage
The art of magecraft is truly a marvelous thing and you have dedicated yourself to the practice. Having spent countless hours developing magical theories and practicing your spells, you hold a greater spell repertoire than that of your peers. You start off with an additional two spells; however, you also start off with 3 fewer AP.
Weapon Mastery
At some point in your life, you’ve trained extensively in the handling of a certain kind of weapon. As a result of this arduous regiment, you prowess in combat is significantly greater when wielding said weapon. STR and DEX increase by one rank when attacking. Note that this effect does not stack when dual-wielding weapons or combining masteries.
Hard to Kill
For one reason or another, you have a high threshold for pain and punishment- even more so than your body should allow. As a result, you are notoriously hard to keep down and, by extension, kill. You can shrug off minor injuries with relative ease and moderate injuries with some effort. Only major injuries give you any real pause.
Art of the Trade
Resistance and Freelancers only. You are in possession of a rather useful tool: a “silver tongue”. When visiting magical shops, you have a certain knack when it comes to talking down prices to better suit your needs and budget. Just be wary when using such a skill, as, more times than not, “one good turn deserves another”.
Field Tester
Scribes R&D only. Most members of your organization only get to use looted items with special permissions. However, you have another option, but of course there are strings attached. As a field tester for the R&D Department, it is your job to provide the division with field data on the items which come into their possession. Just be warned, you are the guinea pig.
Celebrity
Over the course of your magical career or otherwise, you’ve gained a level of fame which has placed you in the public eye. With your name being so well known, people are likely to recognize and be more receptive of you immediately (based upon your feats). Depending on the situation, it is possible to obtain help and information with this fame alone. Naturally however, as you are well known, it is easy to obtain information on you.
Enforcer
Scribes only. Within the Scribe organization, you hold the hefty duty of acting as a “collector” of magecraft. For this reason, you have received top-grade training when it comes to dealing with other mages. When faced with a magical threat, you receive beneficial battle modifiers as you are able to see through the nature of their magic better. However, as you are recognized as a threat to enemy factions, the nature of your abilities are more widely known.
Angel’s blessing
Your character is born with a higher affinity to angelic elements. Such elements will do less damage to you – but you may also do more damage with them. Lower effect than Elemental Affinity.
Devil’s kiss
You character is born with a higher affinity to demonic elements. Such elements will do less damage to you – but you may also do more damage with them. Lower effect than Elemental Affinity.
Diehard
Everyone possesses within them a sense of self-preservation. Within certain individuals, this latent instinct is stronger than it is in others. When your life is in mortal danger and health drops to a critical state, your body naturally shifts into a state of defense. Both CON and RES increase 1 rank; however, STR and INT decrease 1 rank.
Social Butterfly
You get along well with just about everyone, including strangers. So it goes without saying that you’re fairly adept at making new friends and allies because of this. Increasing one’s relationship with other characters is made easier.
Mana Boost
For some reason, you are particularly loved by mana and have a high capacity for processing it. Therefore you can charge yourself with mana, replenishing your reserves faster than others can do. Bonus mana regen rate when mana reserves are lower than 1/3 of your total mana.
The Masked Man
Scribe Assassin Corps only.You are a master of disguise. Even the most scrutinizing mage will not be able to see through your disguise in a matter of simple minutes. Suspicious acts are also less likely to spark the suspicion of any onlookers. Adds a bonus to secretive missions.
Gilded Tongue
Freelancer only.
You are a swindler of sorts. With your snake-like tongue, you can wile secrets and information out of people who aren't even on your side. The only problem is, those who were tricked will not think very highly of you later when they notice they've been taken for the a fool. Lies and trickery will be more effective.
Clan of Honor
Resistance Only.
Your clan is a very respected one, for both it's magecraft and it's people. You have great pride in your clan, and many others, even Scribes, will mostly not try to mess with you. Major Bonus to relationships all around, but minus when dealing with shady folks.
Treasure Raider
Possible to find more loot than normally possible from lootable objects, bodies, and etc. Also allows a better roll on finding hidden items and passages.
To the Death
A last stand. When your odds at winning are extremely low, you can bring yourself up to give a final, defiant stance. For one turn, no mana consumption, all stats are boosted to a certain degree and any debilitating status effects are nullified for that turn only. Is automatically activated once your HP is 1/10 of your max HP. Any skill can be used, but only that one skill.
Magic Resistant Skin
Paladin only. You have been experimented on and have been given the trait of having higher resistance than others. Lowers the damage of magical attacks by 5, and lowers the chance of being affected by status ailments of a magical source.
Cutthroat
Freelancer and Shadow only. You will kill, slaughter and maim just for money, and you are quite good at your job. Elimination missions give more money, and critical attacks will do 50% more damage.
