I really dislike his art so I didn't go beyond the first chapter.

Is it the designs? I think his art is the one thing he has going for him, since his writing is darn near incomprehensible.

Yes it's the designs, his people are just unsettling to look at because of their faces.

Never paid attention to how he fares otherwise, I only ever saw one episode of Air Gear.

I disagree, he doesn't need to solve anything about himself anymore. Ougi Dark was so he could come to terms with who he is and how he acts, and he did it, and came out successful.
He isn't the worst human to exist, he was right all along, and now he knows it.
I am now worried about what direction they're taking this in, but we'll see.

He isn't the worst human to exist, he was right all along, and now he knows it.
I am now worried about what direction they're taking this in, but we'll see.

On Kaiki's subject, as of Hanamonogatari, yes, he's still alive and kicking.

Ononoki pretty much lost (or discarded) all her memories as a human the moment she is given the name of Ononoki. New life means new name, and a new name overwrites previous memories.
