    RB: Okay, either that's a joke that I don't know what to make of, or something else (blame my autism for not catching up to it quite yet).

    Anyway, I want to ask Zalgo a question. Do you want to post this story on FFN, or do you think that wouldn't do you any good?

    Hmm... this is a bit of a surprise these days.

    An archive of my works on the forum that's pretty accurate.

    Note that I don't wish to be seen as an idiot any longer. I can't always promise better works than before, but I can sure as hell try, alright?

    I just posted it on FFN, on the offchance that somebody wanted to read it.

    Since I've recently started on a medium-ish-length Hellsing adventure story and a couple other projects hanging in the air on FFN (not to mention a series of alternate history shorts with William Walker invading Westeros on SB.com), I'm not sure whether people will appreciate the extra story or tear their hair out that I can't focus on anything for more than five minutes.

    And I still need to work on an update for the Riddle story. AND Vestigial Mercies.

    Augh. A pestilence on all plot bunnies.

    Okay.

    Thank you for giving the community a good read, by the way. If you want, I can recommend the story on TVTropes and see how well people take the story.

    Nope, although the two share a similar inspiration.

    This story was great. You need to make it a Sherlock Holmes series.

    You could have the next one with him and Rin or something.
    He never sleeps. He never dies.

    Battle doesn't need a purpose; the battle is its own purpose. You don't ask why a plague spreads or a field burns. Don't ask why I fight.

    You know, Rin would be the perfect Watson.

    Pity this isn't the ISOT Walker, who enjoyed considerably more success than the one who died by firing squad in Honduras, of all places. Still good!

    Regarding plot-bunnies, you've just gotta pick one, then hunt it down and toss it in the pot to make rabbit stew. If you keep haring off after new ones, you'll find yourself hungry and lost in the woods... That metaphor may have gotten away from me a little bit.

P. Lovecraft, letter, 1927

    Assuming that I write another Waver murder mystery sometime, Catherine's certainly the more likely candidate. But Rin is an excellent foil, and if I wrote a series of them, she'd have to appear in at least one.

    One thing at a time, though.

    This has a... very Harry Potter taste to it. For some odd reason.
    If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim,
    If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster;
    And treat those two impostors just the same,

    For some reason Catherine reminds me of Seika.

    Rin as Watson to Waver's Sherlock. Oh yes, I like this thought very much, if it ever happens.

    The only downside to Rin as Watson is that it would require Waver to grow up and be Lord El-Melloi II (since Rin's a little kid in the time of this story), which means essential changes in his characterization. On the other hand, irascible older Waver and precocious teenaged Rin could be excellent as well, and it would fit nicely into any post-game scenario except UBW Good.
